Fishing!

We went fishing last weekend down on the Rappahannock and Victoria was the only one to catch a fish! I was so super proud of her. She did a really great job and she even touched the fish when he was swimming in the bucket! Before Victoria came back from Texas, we went fishing with just Temperance and she caught 2 turtles. We didn't get a chance to photograph them though because they would release and fall off right before we could grab them. But here are two photos of Victoria and her fish!

Our Home!!!

Larry and I finally took the plunge and bought our first house.  It is beyond amazing. It is everything we wanted and even more than we thought it would be. We were truly blessed to get the house and we are thankful every day. We had an amazing realtor and the whole process was actually pretty smooth. I have to give props to Larry for picking the house, doing the hard work and making it all possible. As soon as we get Victoria back home with us, we will post a full family photo out in front. For now, here are some photos of us doing a little work on it and of course, the SOLD photo!

I spilled a soda in my lap on the way to VA to see the house. Ruined my phone but got this amazing photo. Hah

SOLD!

I was never so happy to take a photo as this one!

Larry re-painted our mailbox post and added the new numbers. It looks awesome.

My double wall ovens!!! I LOVE THEM!

My cooktop. It is gas and I love cooking on it.

The dining room.  We are not done in there yet, but it is a great start!

Victoria's pool party blue room.

Temperance's sugar plum and purple room. She picked the colors herself!

As we continue on the house, I will be sure to upload more photos. At this point we are focused on unpacking and getting things together. I look forward to being in this house as long as possible. Larry and I not only love the house, but we really like our location.  King George is a great place to live and it will be a wonderful place to raise our family!

First Civil War Reenactment

This past weekend, Larry, Temperance and I went to a civil war reenactment. It was our first family outing here in Virginia, but we were missing one of our family.  Victoria is still in Texas waiting for 3rd grade to end so she can come join us in our new home.  It has been weird to not have her here.  There are so many things I want to show her and then I will remember she isn't with us. Temperance misses her the most though, she found a photo of Victoria the other day and started crying pretty hard over missing her big sister. Victoria will have a Temperance attached to her when she first gets to Virginia.

Anyway, back to the reenactment, it was actually really cool and I highly recommend attending one if you ever get the chance.  Everyone was in proper attire and the battle was pretty awesome.  Guns blazing, cannons roaring and horses charging. Possibly the coolest part was that Temperance enjoyed herself and had a really great time.

Temperance is a huge fan of the camera, but only sometimes.  Other times she refuses to have her picture taken.  I was happy to take her photos before heading out the door to the reenactment. Isn't she cute?

Easter 2012

We arrived in Texas the Saturday before Easter.  We were lucky to spend Easter with family and friends. I am a little late posting this Blog and these photos, but here they are anyway. :) I hope you all enjoy them!

Unemployed!

The trouble with being a military wife is that I become unemployed for 3-4 months every 3-4 years. It's not easy. It is NEVER easy to quit one job and then find another one. I was truly blessed in Hawaii with a great Accounting job that allowed me to grow and learn and expand my accounting knowledge. Today, however, I am now unemployed. Ugh. Just the thought of the effort and time it is going to take to find a new job is making my head spin.

Larry is the lucky one. He keeps his job and just has to move to a new squadron every time. I am really hoping I don't have as much trouble finding a job in Virginia as I had in Hawaii. It was not a fun time for me.

We are starting to separate stuff out, pack a few things up and get ready for our move.  Our truck ships off island on Monday and from there it will be a whirlwind of things to get done. We only have two weekends left on island and we are blessed the sun is shining! :) YAY!!

Last Few Weeks

I am down to my last week of work and we seriously only have two weekends left here in Hawaii.  You would think we would be out on the beach every waking moment, but everyone got super sick this last weekend and it has been raining here so much there hasn't even been a sun to enjoy.

I was up this morning doing Pilates and thinking about how much we have been able to experience since coming to Hawaii and the list is pretty long. We will be missing the local food, beaches and scenery the most. Of course it is beautiful here, but after three years it is also easy to take it for granted. I hope we took enough photos to remember everything.

As the time gets closer to us leaving I am starting to be agitated and anxious. I am ready for the pack up to be over and the house to be gone... unfortunately those things don't happen until right before we leave. I am insanely excited for this to be my last week of work but I am super nervous about fining a job in VA.  It should be easy but we are buying a house out in the middle of no-man's land and it will put me at a slight disadvantage for the job hunting. Please keep me in your prayers as I begin this new journey.  On the plus side, I got a super great letter of recommendation and I am ready to hit the ground running (literally - I am so freaking excited to run on the mainland again).

Of course we will miss going to luau's as well. :) Now I have to get ready for work. Woop 4 work days left!
