Hike up Kuliouou Ridge

On Saturday, June 20, 2010 we went hiking up the Kuliouou Ridge. It is a 4.88 mile hike and we did it in 4 hours flat. We had both girls with us. Larry packed Temperance on his back and Victoria walked. The difference in terrain was crazy. The only thing that remained constant was the amazing amount of tree roots under foot at all times. What this hike brought home for us is that we all need some serious hiking boots to keep this up! Our girls are huge troopers and the hike was a really great time. Enjoy our pictures!!!!!Kisses for Daddy before the hiking begins! The twisty tree was pretty sweet. Looks like something straight out of a horror movie. AWESOME.I think was the coolest part of the hike. It was like a natural made doorway. I really like the top tree going across. Totally awesome. Victoria needed just a little rest at this point. She really is a trooper. These crazy pine trees were all over the place. The ground was completely covered at some points. Getting pretty sweaty at this point and there is some smudge on my neck! The ground was pretty slick and climbing up was harder than it looks!Victoria was really excited to see the "end of trail" sign! You can just barely see the base through the clouds in the distance. The trip was clearly hard on Temperance!!! She was actually a little sick with a runny nose and she just couldn't stay awake any longer. Poor pumpkin pants! We had a great time together. Highly recommend the hike to anyone who visits Oahu!
